Subscription tiers explained
A plain-English breakdown of the Starter, Trader, and Breeder tiers — what each includes, who each is for, and how to choose.
Three tiers, zero commission
Herpify charges a flat monthly or annual subscription — not a percentage of your sales. You keep every dollar from every sale. Subscriptions exist to fund the platform and unlock features for more serious sellers; they are not a tax on transactions. All tiers, including the free Starter tier, can buy and sell on the marketplace.
Starter — free, forever
The Starter tier is free and always will be. It's designed for hobbyists who sell occasionally, new keepers just getting started, and anyone who wants to browse and buy without committing to a paid plan.

Trader — for active sellers
The Trader tier is built for keepers who regularly sell animals and want more visibility and room to grow. It's the right choice if you regularly sell out your 5-listing cap or want your listings to appear higher in search results.

- Priority placement in search results over Starter listings
- All Starter features included
- Listing performance stats (views, saves, inquiries per listing)
- Support response priority
Breeder — for professional operations
The Breeder tier is for professional breeders running a serious operation. It unlocks everything on Herpify, including the Verified Breeder badge (if you apply and are approved), unlimited listings, pairing and waitlist management, the full API, and the highest placement in search.

Monthly vs annual billing
You can pay monthly or annually. Annual plans offer a significant discount — equivalent to getting two months free compared to paying monthly. You can switch between monthly and annual at renewal. There's no lock-in on monthly plans; you can cancel anytime and retain access until the end of your billing period.
Important note
Prices are listed in your local currency at checkout. If you're in Australia, you'll see AUD pricing. Herpify uses Stripe for all payments — no card details are stored on our servers.
How to upgrade
Go to Account → Settings → Subscription. Select the tier you want, choose monthly or annual billing, and complete checkout via Stripe. Your new tier activates immediately — your listing limit increases and new features unlock straight away.
