How to upgrade

Go to Account → Settings → Subscription. You'll see your current plan and available upgrades. Click "Upgrade" on the plan you want, choose monthly or annual billing, and proceed to the Stripe checkout. Enter your payment details and confirm. Your new plan is active the moment payment is processed — no waiting.

What changes immediately on upgrade

As soon as your upgrade is confirmed, your account reflects the new tier:

• Your listing limit increases immediately (paused listings from hitting your old limit can be reactivated)
• Search placement priority updates for all your existing listings
• New features (analytics, API access for Breeder tier, pairing management) unlock immediately
• If you applied for Verified Breeder status, your application is processed
• Your new billing cycle begins from today

How proration works

If you upgrade mid-billing-cycle, Herpify (via Stripe) calculates a prorated charge. You'll pay for the remainder of the current period at the new plan's rate, minus the unused value of your current plan. This is calculated automatically — you'll see the exact amount before you confirm. You're never charged for the same period twice.

Switching billing period (monthly to annual)

You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time. Switching to annual mid-cycle applies the same proration logic — you receive credit for your remaining monthly days and pay the annual rate for the new period. Annual billing typically saves the equivalent of two months compared to paying monthly.

Payment methods for upgrades

Herpify uses Stripe for all subscription payments. You can pay with any major credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Depending on your region, additional payment methods may be available at checkout. Card details are held securely by Stripe — Herpify never stores your card number.

Can I try a tier before committing?

New Herpify accounts receive a 14-day free trial of the Breeder tier. If you're already on a paid plan and want to try a higher tier, there's no formal trial — but you can upgrade, evaluate the features for a billing period, and downgrade if it's not right for you. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
