Deleting your account

What happens when you delete your Herpify account, how to download your data first, and how to permanently close your account.

Before you delete

Account deletion is permanent. Before proceeding, consider whether you actually need to delete your account or just want a break. You can close all your listings and go inactive without deleting your account — your profile, review history, and data remain intact for when you return. If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it first to avoid being charged after deletion.

Download your data first

Before deleting, you can request a full export of your data — your listings, messages, reviews received, and account details. Go to Account → Settings → Account → Download my data. Your export will be emailed as a ZIP file within 24 hours. This is the only opportunity to save this information before it's gone.

What deletion removes

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed:

  • Your profile, bio, photos, and all personal information
  • All your listings (active, draft, sold, and expired)
  • Your message history and conversations
  • Your saved searches, favourites, and collections
  • Your API keys and any connected integrations

Important note

Reviews you have received from other users remain on the platform in anonymised form. This is a legal requirement to protect the integrity of our review system and the interests of buyers who wrote them.

How to delete your account

Go to Account → Settings → Account → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm your password and type "DELETE" to confirm. Once confirmed, your account enters a 14-day grace period — you can log in and cancel the deletion during this window. After 14 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Subscriptions and refunds

Account deletion does not automatically trigger a refund. If you have a paid subscription, cancel it before requesting deletion. For refund requests on unused subscription periods, see our refund policy.
