Payment methods accepted
Which payment methods Herpify accepts for subscription billing, how card details are stored, and what to do if a payment fails.
Accepted payment methods
Herpify uses Stripe as its payment processor. The following methods are accepted for subscription payments:
- Visa credit and debit cards
- Mastercard credit and debit cards
- American Express credit cards
- Apple Pay (where available in your browser or device)
- Google Pay (where available)
Important note
Available payment methods may vary slightly by country. The checkout page will show exactly which options are available for your location.
How card details are stored
Herpify does not store your card number, CVV, or expiry date. All payment information is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest level of certification in the card payment industry. When you save a card for recurring billing, Stripe stores a tokenised reference that allows future charges without storing raw card data. You can manage your saved payment methods in Account → Settings → Billing.
Updating your payment method
Go to Account → Settings → Billing → Manage payment methods. You can add a new card, set it as your default, and remove old cards. If you want to update your card before your next renewal, make the change at least 24 hours before your billing date.
What happens if a payment fails
If a subscription renewal payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, bank decline), Herpify will:
- Send you an email notification immediately with a link to update your payment method
- Retry the payment automatically after 3 days, then again after 5 days
- If all retry attempts fail, your subscription is cancelled and your account moves to the free Starter tier
- Your listings, data, and review history are preserved throughout this process
Important note
If you receive a failed payment notification, updating your payment method promptly ensures no interruption to your subscription.
Invoices and receipts
Stripe automatically sends a receipt to your registered email address after every successful charge. You can also download PDF invoices from Account → Settings → Billing → Invoices. Invoices include your subscription tier, billing period, amount charged, and your billing address — useful for business expense claims.
Currency
Subscriptions are billed in the local currency for your country where possible — Australian accounts are billed in AUD, UK accounts in GBP, US accounts in USD, and so on. If your country's currency is not supported, billing defaults to USD. The price displayed at checkout includes any applicable taxes.
