Converting hatchlings into marketplace listings

How to link hatchling listings to a pairing, use pairing data to pre-fill new listings, and give your waitlist buyers first access before animals go public.

The payoff for everything you logged

Every stage you recorded, every photo you uploaded, every buyer who joined your waitlist β€” it was all building toward this. When hatchlings arrive and you convert that breeding record into marketplace listings, you are not starting from scratch. You have a pre-warmed audience, documented provenance, and photos that show buyers exactly what they are getting before they even open the listing.

Creating a listing from the pairing

Once you've logged the Hatched stage, the Hatchling Listings section appears at the bottom of your edit page. Tap 'Create Listing from Pairing' to start a new listing with pairing data pre-filled. Species, genetics description, and pairing photos carry across automatically. You add the price, individual animal details, and any hatchling-specific photos. This is the fastest path from hatch to listed.

Linking an existing listing

If you have already created a listing separately, you can connect it to the pairing using 'Link Existing Listing'. This is useful if you created listings before configuring the Pairing Manager, or if you are linking listings you created before this feature was added to your account.

What buyers see

On your public pairing page, linked listings appear in an 'Available Hatchlings' section. Buyers who have been following the pairing see live listings directly from the page they have been watching for weeks. Waitlisted buyers receive an email notification the moment you link a listing. No buyer has to go searching β€” the path from 'I've been waiting' to 'I can buy now' is a single click.

After hatchlings sell

When a linked listing is marked as sold, it remains connected to the pairing record. Your breeding history builds up across seasons β€” each completed pairing with sold-out hatchlings becomes visible proof of your track record when future buyers evaluate your pairings. A page that shows '2024: 8 pairings, all sold out' is your most credible sales tool.

Important note

Mark listings as sold promptly. A waitlisted buyer who clicks through to an already-sold listing loses confidence in your responsiveness. Keep your records current.
